Landscape With the Fall of Icarus Special: Monday April, 6, 2009

Icarus, the Greek mythical tale of the boy who flew too close to the sun that the heat melted the wax on his wings, was adapted for the stage by Stefano Brancato and Michael Bush. Although the production closed this Sunday with the Connecticut Repertory Theatre, it may not be forever. Everyone has a story, and cast member Rob Rosado joined me to share his!

The puppet play adaptation, Icarus is searching to bring the tale further than to just Connecticut. As expressed by Rob and myself on air, the whole production was a beautiful collaboration of story, lights, acting, spectacle, puppetry, music, etc. The maelstrom of passion and desire shined through in form of honest, raw perfection. The production is hoping to bring the story for more to see and monetary support to not let it end.
With so many forms of theatre there has to be something for everyone. Maybe this could be just for you.

This production is the heart of what it means to make something from nothing and the only way for that to be successful is for the creativity to be at it's finest. Icarus was a success and to me, success is when artists can communicate with other artists.
