***Windham Young Poets Kick Off Poetry in the Park Summer Series
On Thursday, June 11, 2009, at 6:00 pm,the Windham High School Young Poets will read from their poetry at the Julia de Burgos Park in Willimantic, CT (at the corner of Jackson Street and Terry Avenue). The Young Poets is a writing and performance group (ages 15 to 22) ofWindham High School and Windham Academy in Willimantic who have been on Good Morning America and continue to perform in our community, including the WindhamARTS Collaborative, ECSU and UCONN.

"B.O.M.B - Bring Our Music Back" Festival is a benefit for SoundMusic& Make-a-wish Foundation. It includes a showcase of national acts alongside local high school and undiscovered talent. ***EUGENE ‘ONEILL NATIONAL PUPPETRY CONFERENCE SHOW:
Come see exciting new puppetry works and the latest techniques, approaches, and ideas in the world of puppetry. Performances are scheduled at the O’Neill, on Friday, June 19 and Saturday, June 20 at 7:00 pm at the Rose Barn Theater in WATERFORD, CT. ***Third Thursday IS THURSDAY (18TH) from 6-9PM
* Every third Thursday from May to September, 5 blocks of Main Street in Willimantic are closed to showcase vendors, food, music, clowns, and more to support local artists and organizations in Connecticut. It is a grassroots community event, completely organized by volunteers and with no paid staff.
* WHUS will be there with a vendor in front of the bench shop.
